Or the lake shore -- the water lapping onto eroding blocks of concrete.
The humming of distant highway traffic, the sound of trees in the wind, rolling clouds, or quiet train horns.
It's an irrational and intangible feeling, and the cicada's call epitomizes it.

Combining elements of heavy drones, field recordings and excessive analog processing with throbbing kick-drum rhythms, dense compression and dubby chord punctuations, Dilate/Erode is a massive exercise in deep sonic exploration and experimentation. Sometimes, as atonal as it is musical, meandering chords drift around icy textures and windy hums as a bass pulses metronomically like a heartbeat heard inside the womb. The two artists' contributions intertwine so seamlessly and naturally that one might be hard pressed to tell the difference without a tracklist, and special attention has been given to creating an immersive atmosphere over and under the songs using mutated field recordings by both artists. 1/2 written & produced by Submersion.

Submersion is well known for his dub techno productions and "Cyclonic" could easily be described as dub techno but the focus is much more on a very meditative and spiritual state of ambience, based around the swirling sounds of wind, rain and deep echoes and delays of organic synth stab sounds and chords. The tracks should be seen as one floating interwoven piece of 60 minutes of pure dub ambient electronic music." -diametric. "Momentum" was created using multiple improvised and layered audio segments each recorded in real-time. The album is nearly beatless, however there are percussive and rhythmic elements that appear throughout. The long track durations necessitated a digital release. The final track captures voices, and (what are assumed to be) coyote howls at night as the animals passed through woods nearby. The sample was recorded while stargazing in Calhoun County, West Virginia. Field Recordings:
