This album project has darker moments, mixed with odd noises and production.
There are subtle melodic hints in places of my usual style. However, they are masked in sonic manipulation and warped thinking.
Originally, this project was slated to be a sequel to the 2005 album, “I am on the Blink”.
Things ended up going in a different direction all together, to chart new ground.
This project will hopefully bring new audiences along with my current listeners.

During this time up until the first formal released album in 1995, I've always referred to myself as !Pulss, a different way to spell the word, Pulse.
The style of electronic music back then was very primitive compared to my current production standards. The genre was mostly a synthpop energetic style. Most of the music was instrumental, and all was created with hardware only instruments. In the years since, my music evolved beyond the original idea. I then decided to just name the production after my real name. The basic idea remained only using machines/instruments to create the sound. In the early 2000's software instruments entered into my production. The early albums had some older electronic instruments that I've since stored away for many years.
Pulse:
This album by design is a project with hints of my past in sound and content. The old equipment was put back into production along with various newer pieces to this day. So you will hear hints from older albums, forward to current time. Only hardware machines were used for all sound sources on this project. This project has been great fun for me to create over the past 6 months. Hearing the sounds of some of these old instruments again really was special to me. Everything is brought forward into my current chosen genre, Electro-Synth-Pop. This album has more vocals then in past releases.
Listeners who have heard and recall my sound style those many years, may find this new album alot of fun I am hoping. Those new to Kevin Lux music welcome and enjoy my latest project.

No DAW multi track computer based production was used at all. This project was founded to recreate a selection of old songs into productions I only could have imagined, back at the time this material was originally written and produced. The selection of tracks are ones I feel best work well over time all these years later. It is 30 years in the making... The recreations/updates are totally from scratch, not reusing any of the old data/audio. They have now been painstakingly recreated with every note, sequence, instrumentation, then adding new material/technology never before imagined back in the day. The vintage equipment, some of which I still have, was also used again. Some of these old tracks already have been recreated and released on more recent albums ie: Cyborg in Shadows, Mood of Numbers, Battery, Computer Commuter, etc....But these too, have all been modified and updated again for this new project along with other recreations not yet heard... The material has been recreated based on songs taken from these older albums: Aluminum Feeling [1995], Themes from the Elektric Society [1995], Dance Option [1996], Music for Driving [1997], Futurelounge [1999]. Also, a few others from old 2 track tape masters back when I was known as, "!Pulss" in the late 1980's... That material has never originally been released publicly other then one thus far, "Stealth" from 1989 released on the 2018 album, "Dark Machine". Kevin Lux has been quietly creating his own original blend of electronic music for over 25 years. Formal releases began in 1995 with the initial first public release of the “Aluminum Feeling” album. Kevin’s music is a mixture of hardware/software technologies, always developing and evolving over time. Each album has a different theme by design. Most of Kevin Lux music is instrumental, however its not unusual to sometimes hear some simple vocal subjects interjected into the content. Kevin Lux is based in Chicago, USA and tends to promote worldwide using the internet as the main tool of promotion. While there have been some live performances over the years, its actually quite rare for Kevin Lux to perform live.
Kevin Lux music is most influenced by Kraftwerk initially, as back in the late 1970’s/1980’s Kevin was exposed to this kind of music over Detroit radio airwaves. Over the years many artists influenced Kevin Lux music including but not limited to: OMD, Front 242, Severed Heads, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Gary Numan, Orbital, and others.
The first known Kevin Lux music was recorded around 1980. Kevin was known as “!Pulss” during the 1980’s into the early 1990’s when the music was in its infancy. When the first formal album was produced, it was decided to simply release it under the real name of Kevin Lux going forward to this day.
