In our approach for Air Texture the aim was to reflect that joy, and compile a set of tracks by both established producers and new talent, each with their own unique interpretations of a leftfield, non linear aesthetic." The Air Texture Series asks two Producers/ Performers to select a double CD worth of unreleased music. The only guidance is the music should not be main floor bangers, other than that we get out of the way, allowing them autonomy over their selection. This time Steffi and Martyn were asked to step up. Exciting, since as residents at Berghain/Panorama Bar - two of the most important dancefloors in the world… how would two such respected artists approach our experimental ethos. released October 9, 2018 Compiled by Steffi and Martyn foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

The Air Texture compilation series, the core project of our label, asks two producers to collaborate on a combined release. Typically the two are connected in some way through past projects. The only rules are no rules - focus on finding music that isn’t just straight ahead club music. Within this approach, the series has presented a diverse array of music on the edges of experimental and dance - and always unreleased new music. Rrose is the latest incarnation of Seth Horvitz, an interdisciplinary artist from California (now residing in London) whose 20+ year history weaves in and out of both dance music culture and academic circles. The work of Seth Horvitz focuses on the limits of perception and the idiosyncrasies of machines, and the Rrose project focuses these ideas into an immersive and noisy, yet highly detailed form of techno meant to move the mind and body in equal measures. On stage, Rrose often stands in the shadows, going by he and she interchangeably (Rrose’s name and image allude to Duchamp’s female alter-ego) – an implied interrogation of gender norms and... more released February 15, 2020 ----------------------- foobar2000 1.2.5 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1 Аудиокодек: FLAC (*.flac)

As the cost of living in Manhattan proper moved artist minded migration patterns further afield, places like East Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Ridgewood became post-cultural centers in a way, with producer after producer gaining international recognition in the last 10+ years. New clubs such as Nowadays, Knockdown Center, and Elsewhere furthered the momentum, anchored by first mover Bossa Nova, and important festivals like Sustain-Release and Dweller came soon after. Collectively, the stage was set for a beautiful moment in electronic music history, still unfolding, and maybe something that could only happen in the States in a place like Brooklyn. "Anthony Naples is a Brooklyn based producer, DJ, and co-founder of the record label Incienso. In the early days of his time in the city, he worked at venerated indie label Captured Tracks. He had just started hearing the music that he credits with his early club music education, like Theo Parrish, Actress, and Omar S, down in Florida… “When I found dance music and started to understand the concept about the club, it felt more like you could be more anonymous and not such a front and center sort of presence. That was really attractive to me because I hate being in the spotlight.” Things shifted quickly once he put out his first record on Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin’s Mister Saturday Night: The lo-fi house cut “Mad Disrespect” blew up, and he started touring immediately. “I always felt insecure about that,” Naples says. “I felt like I didn’t have a lot of roots here.” Naples moved to LA in 2014 and then Berlin a year later. It wasn’t until he crash landed back in New York at a house on Fairview Ave that he shared with musicians Brian Piñeyro (aka DJ Python), J Albert, and Will DiMaggio that he started to realize how important it was to be a part of the scene on a ground level rather than an export of it. He wanted to be more proactive, to help his peers, to share knowledge. Piñeyro took him under his wing after Naples’ particularly rough go of it in Berlin, and Piñeyro sent him early recordings. Naples felt like it was the right time to do something new. He met Jenny Slattery three weeks later. They started a label, Incienso, and agreed to release a DJ Python LP.” - Vice "DJ Python is one of the aliases of Brian Piñeyro, also known as DJ Wey. He works with deep reggaeton sounds, merging dembow rhythms with the sound characteristics of deep house. It’s an unmistakable sound that had led Python to release on Dekmantel to glowing reviews. The sinuous Caribbean pulse of reggaeton and the celestial atmospheres of ambient music might appear to have little in common, but in the hands of Brian Piñeyro these disparate genres sound like a natural combination. From his home in Queens, New York City, DJ Python concocts astral synth pieces, anchored by the “dem bow” rhythm—the beat adopted from Jamaican dancehall by Puerto Rican reggaeton producers and since exported around the Spanish-speaking world by megastars such as Daddy Yankee and Don Omar. On 2017’s album Dulce Compañia for Anthony Naples’ Incienso label, Piñeyro explored this fusion of tropical rhythmic bustle and off-world electronics to captivating effect, creating an irresistible cloud surfing atmosphere, while drawing on elements of jungle and new age sounds. On album track “q.e.p.d,” he summons shimmering apparitions from his machines, while a moody, deep bassline and a locomotive percussion part provide the rhythm; while on “Todo Era Azul (Versión Afuera),” Piñeyro repurposes a breakbeat and presses it into a reggaeton groove, replete with warm, dubby synth chords. Born and raised in New York to parents of Ecuadorian and Argentine heritage, Piñeyro moved to Miami while he was still in high school, and the Latin culture of the city, including the beat of reggaeton, made a big impression upon him. As an adult back in NYC, he began to make music seriously, releasing tracks under the pseudonyms DJ Wey, Deejay Xanax, and Luis. As DJ Wey, Piñeyro made “Nosebleed”: an oppressively intense minimal techno piece with zonked out bleeps and evil bass blurts, while as Deejay Xanax, he has created IDM-infused jungle, such as the metallic tasting “DJxana2.” - XLR8R Curators shout outs: Chris Wang, Jek, Jenny, Schwinn, IJK, Tomas Station, Tanya, Nicki, Juanita’s, Super Pollo, Konida, Latane, PLO Man, Toby, Hishi, Sk8thing, Grayson. Highlight the local producers, and bring awareness to the social causes that are important to the creative community there. Social Cause In December 2016, Colombia formally brought to a close a 52-year civil war that resulted in the deaths of more than 220,000 people, the flight of more than 7.6 million within and beyond the country’s borders, and an incalculable cost to the economy and public well-being. Approved by Congress after four years of negotiations between the Colombian government and the left-wing rebel group known as the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), the historic peace deal ended the longest-running civil conflict in the Western Hemisphere, one that has taken a huge toll on Colombian society, most profoundly in the area of migration. Violence-driven displacement in rural areas has given Colombia the dubious distinction of hosting the most internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the world, with 7.3 million individuals registered as of 2016—more than 15 percent of the national population. In addition, hundreds of thousands of Colombians are estimated to live abroad as refugees, primarily in neighboring countries. Ongoing violence by other guerrilla and paramilitary groups is making return difficult for these refugees. Many people are victims and little is properly reported or prosecuted. Partner Organization Mutante. Proceeds from the release will be donated to this organization. Based in Colombia, Mutante connects agendas, audiences and civil society organizations through digital narratives, crowdsourcing/ funding and strong investigative journalism. Focused on the social issues that matter, Mutante designs "social conversations": participative content cycles that run online for a certain period of time based on three principles: To Speak, To Understand and To Act upon the great problems of our time. It's first conversation, #LetsTalkAboutTheGirls, aims to generate public awareness, discussion and action around the epidemic of sexual violence against underage women in Colombia. In 2019, Mutante will follow up this exercise with conversations about gun violence (on the rise in Colombia, specially against social leaders), the threat against the Amazon jungle and the downside of the war against cocaine. www.mutante.org | @mutanteorg released May 31, 2019 Created in collaboration with Juliana Cuervo, a Medellín based DJ Resident at Mansion Club, Medellín. Highlight the local producers, and bring awareness to the social causes that are important to the creative community there. Social Cause Recent unrest in Tbilisi which saw young clubbers and far-right demonstrators facing off in street protests have highlighted divisions between Georgia’s long-standing conservative traditions and emerging, more liberal views. After transitioning Georgia to a parliamentary system of governance, the ruling Georgian Dream party rushed through constitutional reforms without securing broader political consensus. In May 2018, Georgian police raided multiple popular clubs in Tbilisi, using excessive force against workers and guests. The officially stated reason for the raid is due to recent drug-related deaths and accusations of drug trafficking. This sparked a two-day long protest in front of the Georgian parliament. “We dance together, we fight together” – under this slogan, people organized a big techno party. It was not just about dancing. These young people were protesting against restricting their freedom. Tbilisi electronic music scene has displayed unprecedented level of solidarity and unity and once again has proven that along with people, it stands at the vanguard of social changes, fights for justice, equality and freedom. Other areas of concern include punitive criminal drug policies for drug users, occupational safety and labor rights, media freedoms, particularly media pluralism, and violence. Partner Organization Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC). Proceeds from this release will be donated to this organization. Based in Tbilisi Georgia, Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) is an organization working on human rights aiming to support creation of free, equal society based on solidarity. EMC aims to reveal the structural causes of social and political inequality, oppression, conduct critical analysis as well as change existing policy by using human rights instruments and activist fighting methods. They believe in freedom, equality and solidarity of the society, social and economic justice, in the idea of state as a guarantor of social justice and welfare. We fight for getting an inclusive and fair democratic system based on political participation. The major instruments of organizational activities: research, advocacy, strategic litigation, teaching. EMC in its activities uses the approaches of social groups’ participation as well as their mobilization. EMC tries to support and incorporate their needs, concerns and demands into the political agenda. emc.org.ge/en Created in collaboration with Giorgi lakobidze and Sandro Mezurnishvili. Axmed was born in Xamar, Somalia where he also spent his early years until his family had to flee during the civil war and ended up in the Netherlands via other countries. He spent his formative years in Breda in the south of the Netherlands until he moved to Amsterdam some years ago. In Amsterdam Axmed co-founded Dance with Pride, a queer initiative which aims to re-unify dance music with its queer roots and raise money for grass roots queer initiatives with their fundraiser parties and sales of the Dance with Pride T-shirt. In addition to that Axmed is involved in other queer initiatives, with focus on QTIBPOC. Together with Ladan Maandeeq, Axmed started working on 'Queer Somali Pasts and Presents: A Storytelling and Archival Project' which will focus on the lives of Queer Somalis in the diaspora and Somalia, both in the present day and the past. As someone who came to the Netherlands as a refugee and is queer, this cause touches Axmed on a personal level. Link: http://linktr.ee/axmed Social Cause All over the world people from the LGBTQIA+ community are in danger. They are discriminated, persecuted, or worse in many parts of the world, forcing them to leave their homes to seek safety and protection in more socially accepting countries. People travel far from home without family or support systems. In the Netherlands, many come seeking safety, but confront a difficult system where the process is confrontational and arbitrary. The Immigration and Naturalisation (IND) treats LGBTQIA+ refugees very poorly. Many have to prove they are Queer with detailed sexual and personal history - an invasion of privacy forcing the burden of proof on the individual at risk. Many don’t get granted asylum and scared they will be sent back, are forced into a situation where they become undocumented. Outside of the system even basic needs like health care are not available. The Netherlands positions itself as progressive and open but to People of Colour and other minority groups it is very different. LGBTQIA+ refugees are the most marginalized and the most at risk. For Place : Netherlands we wanted to bring attention and funds to organizations that help Queer refugees get advice, find an extended sense of family and belonging, get legal work, and reenter society. Partner Organization Open Closet LGBT Netherlands The Open Closet LGBT Netherlands was co-founded by Teddy Lyon as a response to the difficulties of his personal experience with the local immigration authorities (IND). Having decided that he is here to stay, the South-African born activist wanted to make sure that what happened to him does not happen to others. Open Closet not only ensures that incoming LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers are properly registered, but also provides help with food, support towards the procedures required, counseling and a family where everybody is welcome. They provide a place to come together and cover for traveling costs if needed. By organising meetings regularly, they create a sense of community and belonging for queer asylum seekers in the Netherlands. Open Closet also ensures that asylum seekers are properly informed of their rights and options. The goal is to build a global network of music producers bringing important social issues to the electronic music community and world at large. Electronic music is a truly egalitarian, classless, and empowering art form. 1000's of producers have emerged from every corner of the globe in the recent years, infusing their own culture and influences into the endless mix. Let’s highlight more producers than the few who constantly tour, show up on the same lists and parties. Let's promote electronic music as an activist artform by and for the people. The city is in the midst of a massive housing crisis. Gentrification drives out our independent venues. Canada's Prime Minister has brought the country a pipeline that could ruin the pristine beauty of our local environment with one single spill. So we do what we can to make change and to bring together communities where we can Vancouver is awash in DJs, producers and promoters doing amazing work to raise a fist and transcend all these things. Vancouver is far more than a few labels, one neighbourhood and a subgenre. My city of glass is one that represents across all shapes, genres, tempos and sounds, and this is an attempt at pulling back the curtain, allowing a better look at that beating heart. Vancouver has represented at Berghain, made tunes rewound by drum and bass’ finest and housed up ADE and beyond. The seeds sown by Skinny Puppy, Tyler Stadius and Map Music are the shoulders upon which new generations stand and deliver for the dancefloor and your headphones. - James “Kuma” Graham, Vancouver 2020. Social Cause Indegenious Rights and Environmental Protection Indigenous Peoples have been protecting biodiversity on Earth for thousands of years. Yet their rights are increasingly being eroded and they face multiple threats. The deep understanding that indigenous communities have over their lands, through their traditional knowledge, means that they are best placed to lead conservation and ecosystem regeneration efforts. Natural places are also sacred sites and areas of special spiritual significance to Indigenous Peoples. Whether it’s fish farming, oil pipelines, mining, or other exploitative efforts, much of these activities now happen on the last remaining pristine natural lands in the world, many owned and managed by Indigenous People. When Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he was approving the expansion of the Trans Mountain oil pipeline, Leah George-Wilson, chief of the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation in Vancouver, said the $5.5 billion expansion will endanger the ecosystems of the inlet at the foot of her reserve. She’s challenging Trudeau’s decision in court. The Coastal GasLink pipeline, a C$6.6bn ($5bn) project which will transport natural gas 670km (420 miles) across British Columbia to the Pacific coast, where a liquefied natural gas (lng) plant is under construction. The pipeline is an “invasion”, detractors say, because about a quarter of its route passes through land traditionally belonging to the Wet’suwet’en, a First Nations people. The Wet’suwet’en Nation has never signed treaties or ceded territory to the Canadian government — a fact that its leaders have defended fiercely in court as well as on the ground. Its hereditary chiefs were behind a landmark Supreme Court of Canada decision in 1997 known as Delgamuukw v. The Queen, which recognized the existence of aboriginal title, whereby Indigenous people have the right to “exclusive use and occupation” of territory. However, because of a technicality, the court did not resolve the boundaries of the Wet’suwet’en’s claim to 8,500 square miles of land, stating that title would have to be sought through separate legal or treaty-making proceedings, which were never completed. Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs underline that while the elected First Nation governments may have jurisdiction over reserve land, the vast majority of which is not affected by the pipeline, the Delgamuukw ruling and a subsequent court decision affirm that in the traditional territory through which Coastal GasLink passes, it’s the hereditary chiefs whose authority matters. Recently, Canadian court approved the Trans Mountain expansion, which would add more than 600 miles to the pipeline and increase its capacity from 300,000 barrels per day to 890,000, has been mired in controversy and legal battles since Canada's cabinet first approved the project in 2016. Like its geography, it holds unexpected transformations behind every other mountain. The influences that have reached our world come from all over the place, and in an introspective world full of wide open views and steeply shifting horizon lines, we are compelled to take all this data in and reprocess it, combining it with what is ours, and what is of this land, to create individual expressions that hold many worlds within them. We are all involved in a conversation as wide as it is old. The music that we are making is connected to something much older than us. This particular combination is focused on the people I have come to know, mostly around the city of Quito, and also to the southern parts of the Andes, the province of Imbabura, and the northern reaches of the province of Carchi. The Ecuadorian scene is a producer’s scene, where audiences are not enormous, and electronic music is produced for the pleasure of producing it. In an odd way this has led to very genuine expressions which at the same time make our producers quite unique and interesting to the outside world, and have in turn raised the quality and scope of what we are making. We are not isolated per se, it’s more as though we reach the mass consciousness by going inward. There are strings that hold us together; our music gets to the future by going to the roots, our mountainous megadiversity brings us together, as does the psychoactivity of living in this place. We make psychoactive sounds, from a country covered in psychedelic plants, and horizons which enliven the imagination. It’s not about hype. we are all just here, making music, for its own sake, and ours. - Quixosis, Quito 2020 Social Cause Indigenous Rights, Land Rights, Environmental Protection The Waorani, who currently number around 2,000, once maintained one of the largest territories of all indigenous Amazonians in Ecuador. Recently, the Waorani had filed a lawsuit against the Ecuadorian government for not properly consulting with them before opening up their territory to potential oil exploration. Ecuador has divided much of its portion of the Amazon into blocks to lease the mineral rights in an international auction. The crux of the lawsuit was the Waorani’s claim that the government had not properly consulted their community about the oil auction. Nenquimo told me that representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Non-renewable Resources came to her village in 2012, seeking community members’ consent for the auction, but she and her family were out on a hunting trip and didn’t meet with them. Mitch Anderson, the founder of Amazon Frontlines, a non-governmental organization (N.G.O.) that works with the Waorani and other indigenous groups on sovereignty and environmental issues, said that the consultations were treated as a box that needed to be checked off, rather than as a serious discussion with the community about the impact of introducing oil extraction into the forest lands and rivers where they hunt and fish. Anderson said that language barriers and short visits made the process even more opaque. On April 26, 2019, the Waorani people of Pastaza won a historic ruling in Ecuadorian court protecting half a million acres of their territory in the Amazon rainforest from being earmarked for oil drilling. The decision by the three-judge panel of the Pastaza Provincial Court immediately voids the consultation process with the Waorani undertaken by the Ecuadorian government in 2012, indefinitely suspending the auctioning of their lands to oil companies. The verdict also disrupts the contemplated auctioning of 16 oil blocks that cover over 7 million acres of indigenous territory by providing an invaluable legal precedent for other indigenous nations across the Ecuadorian Amazon. Just days before the Waorani victory, a coalition of Latin-American journalists unveiled a new reporting project, “Tierra de Resistentes” (“Land of Resistants”), focussed on the dangers that face environmental activists. Their reporting showed that advocates from ethnic minorities—particularly indigenous people—face a high risk of violent attack from supporters of mining, logging, and other industries. The project, which is supported by Deutsche Welle Akademie, the Pulitzer Center, and others, opens by declaring, “Defending the jungles, mountains, forests and rivers of Latin America has never been this dangerous.” One aspect of the project is a database, compiled by thirty journalists, from Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Guatemala, which documents more than thirteen hundred attacks on environmentalists that took place in these seven countries during a ten-year period, and the project includes in-depth stories about sixteen individual cases. Indigenious communities need to be protected and supported worldwide. In many cases, legally recognized tribes are sovereign governments and therefore can set climate policies independently of federal or state governments. The laws passed and programs adopted by tribes have the potential to significantly improve their resilience in the face of climate risks. Underfunded and lacking resources, these communities are frequently exploited, removed, or killed in the pursuit of fossil fuels and commodities. www.amazonfrontlines.org/who/partners/waorani/ Partner Organization Amazon Frontlines Amazon Frontlines is comprised of an international group of human rights lawyers, environmental activists, forestry specialists, environmental health scientists, filmmakers, journalists, anthropologists, and farmers who work in the western Amazon. Place: Nairobi Cause The Green Belt Movement The Great Green Wall is a reforestation initiative that will span the width of Africa. This African-led movement aims to grow an 8,000km belt of trees, vegetation and fertile land across the Sahel to transform millions of lives living on the climate change frontline. The Green Belt Movement (GBM) is an environmental organization that empowers communities, particularly women, to conserve the environment and improve livelihoods. GBM was founded by Professor Wangari Maathai in 1977 under the auspices of the National Council of Women of Kenya (NCWK) to respond to the needs of rural Kenyan women who reported that their streams were drying up, their food supply was less secure, and they had to walk further and further to get firewood for fuel and fencing. GBM encouraged the women to work together to grow seedlings and plant trees to bind the soil, store rainwater, provide food and firewood, and receive a small monetary token for their work. GBM encouraged the women to work together to grow seedlings and plant trees to bind the soil, store rainwater, provide food and firewood, and receive a small monetary token for their work. The Green Belt Movement began to advocate for greater democratic space and more accountability from national leaders. It fought against land grabbing and the encroachment of agriculture into the forests. It contested the placement of a tower block in Uhuru Park in downtown Nairobi and joined others to call for the release of political prisoners. In recent years, it has extended its reach internationally to campaign and advocate on climate change, the importance of Africa’s rainforests in the Congo, to initiate the mottainai campaign—an effort to instill the notions of “reduce, reuse, recycle” in Kenya and around the world—and has partnered with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in its Billion Tree Campaign. The work of Professor Maathai and the Green Belt Movement continues to stand as a testament to the power of grassroots organizing, proof that one person’s simple idea—that a community should come together to plant trees, can make a difference. Her legacy truly lives on through the Movement which to date remains in the frontline of advocating for environmental conservation in Kenya, and making great progress on reclaiming and restoring forest land. The Movement continues to expand its horizon to include community development work encompassing the arenas of environmental conservation, democracy, community empowerment and conflict resolution, as Wangari envisioned. www.greenbeltmovement.org A non-profit project from New York based label Air Texture, Place: is a location specific electronic music compilation series where all proceeds are donated to a local environmental cause in that place. A few months ago in a little city called Redon, sound equipment and gear was violently destroyed rather than simply confiscated by the authorities and people were hurt, under the pretext the rave wasn’t allowed. We weren't too surprised as we had lost faith in our government for a while, but it shocked the electronic scene in a particular way. Upon hearing of many similar incidents around the country, this had a big impact on creativity and political implications, almost an end to innocence and a deep feeling of injustice. I started curating Place: France earlier, but genres and styles focus took less of a priority, rather we highlighted artists that represent what is most important right now: self expression and guts, and therefore it may seem to be a good reply to these oppressions. It’s very tempting to say that these artists brought something that you never may have heard before: an infinity of genres and subgenres from all over the world carefully dissected and wed to a new French expression. Many of these artists are related to different French scenes, and uniting them into a homogeneous entity was something I cared about a lot. After learning more about them, I was pleasantly surprised to see how most of these different scenes and artists were already supporting each other, and that shows again how the French electronic scene can be significant. If I had to choose a handle of french magic from Air Texture’s perspective, it would be that. This release is certainly hybrid and rich, tracks are designed from experimental to breaks, ambient, dnb & jungle to even fast club music, where abstraction, haze and light are crossing with roughness, dust and organics, as air with texture. Collectively, with the Iris color of the album cover, the project’s environmental cause, or even the track titles - these specimens drive us to a modern poetry and reminds me of a hanging garden, like a tale where anything could happen.” Lia Catreux, Paris 2021. -- Place: France was curated in collaboration with Lia Catreux soundcloud.com/lia-catreux Lia Catreux is a Paris-based DJ who loves playing with a myriad of influences and intensities: her DJ sets take us from weighty blends of Breaks, Drum & Bass, Experimental, Hard Dance & Bass music to deeper and darker, ambient and minimalistic vibes. As old veterans of electronic deep explorations they are driven by the aim to provide a general view and an état des lieux of the electronic microcosm of this scene supporting its different directions and creative aspects. This compilation is an invitation to have a deep dig into electronic Tunisia. The artists curated to participate represent different backgrounds and musical perspectives. From score composers to established producers, crossing the path of more experimental ones the curators offer a large view of the ensemble of the different electronic approaches in Tunisia. Different generations are also meeting through this compilation, regrouping almost four decades of producers and sonic creators. Supporting Organization As with prior Place: releases, all proceeds will go to a local environmental organization with both artists contributing their music and Air Texture donating its time and resources. For this release, the recipient organization is La Ruche, based in South Tunisia, Tozeur. La Ruche supports local human rights, women rights, and environmental protection, things that are deeply linked and typically inseparable issues. la-ruche.tn Azu Tiwaline Nothing happens overnight. Behind every emergence, there’s years of work, thought and preparation - both intentional and unconscious - that’s gone unseen. “A new name for a new spirit”, is how Azu Tiwaline introduced herself to the world in 2020. But really, it was a project with its roots in over two decades of experimentation, soul-searching - both creative and personal - and exploration. It fuses together two halves of her own identity, inspired by her home in the desert. Personal history collides with heritage: half step rhythms from a career in bass music met the warm winds and wide open silence of El Djerid in Tunisia. When music is sincere and honest, it tends to reverberate more widely, and deeply. Her debut LP Draw Me A Silence - released by her ‘family’ at I.O.T. - and her heralded Magnetic Service EP for Livity Sound clearly resonated with listeners in 2020. Something about the spacious, yet dense sonics spoke to an audience starved of both the community of the dancefloor and the space of the outside world. Magnetic Service was one of the most acclaimed debut EPs of the year, featuring in end of year coverage from Bandcamp to Resident Advisor. What comes next is as yet unwritten. In the meantime, take inspiration from her music: keep the tempo steady, let some light in, and listen for the silence. biglink.to/azu_tiwaline azutiwaline.bandcamp.com Shinigami San Long time activist of the electronic music microcosm and based between Paris and Tunis, Shinigami San is a multi disciplinary artist and PhD in film studies focusing on Virtual Reality Cinema.
